2/18/2024 0 Comments Soundcore boom❌ You want audiophile sound: The Roam's audio performance isn't bad by any means, but the bass frequencies can be overwhelming. If that's your biggest priority, our separate guide showcasing the best waterproof speakers will show you the options that can take a proper dunking. Most portable speakers are rugged in design because they often get knocked and dropped – and many are dust- and waterproof, though definitely not all. Similarly, if you want a more permanent speaker for your home (and something that can piggyback on your home's wi-fi network), check out our guide to the best wireless speakers. Having said that, we do have a guide to the best party speakers if you want huge sound and you don't need it to be especially light or portable. That said, there are some very decent affordable options these days, meaning you can get substantial sound from something that still fits in a pocket (just about). We should tell you right now that the smaller and cheaper a speaker is, the more compact and congested the sound can become. Audiophile sound quality and a thumping low end is always going to be a big ask here, especially if you're looking at something the size of a coffee cup, but you can get a portable speaker that delivers balanced and clear audio outdoors (because if you're going to buy something, it might as well sound good, right?) These are our priorities when testing Bluetooth speakers and obviously we're balancing that with battery life and price – otherwise known as value for money. Chances are you have more than one already. We've been testing the best portable speakers for years, in all shapes and sizes – and crucially, for all budgets. You’ll need your own USB AC adapter or a 12-volt power adapter to tap you car’s battery, as Anker doesn’t provide one. This of course will drop if you use the Motion Boom’s battery to charge your phone. Anker claims 24 hours of run time (go home!) and 4 hours to a full charge. It was still running on the factory charge on the 10000 mAh battery at about the 4-hour mark. I wouldn’t call the Motion Boom sonically excellent under any circumstance, but the EQ saved the day as far as I was concerned. I found it quite handy and it changed my opinion of the speaker’s overall sonic worthiness. IDGĪnker provides a Soundcore app that allows you to tweak the EQ of the Motion Boom to taste. This resulted in a very loud, very bass-y, and decently sonorous combination that would be welcome at just about any beach party. However, Anker thoughtfully sent two Motion Booms, so I could pair them using the supported True Wireless Stereo featire. With the drivers so close together in the enclosure, there’s not a lot of separation of the right and left signals. Voila! Same deal and more than listenable. The BassUp function won’t engage when you customize the EQ, however, so I just upped the 80Hz band to compensate. The BassUp function is engaged by default and it produces a very round and prominent low end. One thing there was more than enough of right out of the box was thump. It’s a rather clever arrangement to be sure. Anker handily includes a, you guessed it-Type-C to Type-A cable. On the back of the Motion Boom is a hefty rubber plug concealing both a USB Type-C port for charging the speaker, and a Type-A port for charging other devices. There’s also a TWS (True Wireless Stereo) button to link the speaker with another TWS-capable unit to form a stereo pair i.e., one speaker reproduces the right channel, and the other the left. The MFB takes care of play/pause/FF/rewind/answer/hang up and summoning your phone’s voice assistant. The controls for the Motion Boom are located on the top of the unit closest to the speaker face and include Bluetooth (5.0) pairing/status, power, BassUp (80Hz boost), volume up/down, and a multi-function button in the middle. I don’t recommend diving any speaker to the bottom of the pool, but the Motion Boom is rated IPX7, meaning it can sit under one meter of water for 30 minutes without giving up the ghost.

2/18/2024 0 Comments Menuwhere for ipod downloadFirst, restoring the In-App Purchase across multiple Macs is currently broken. Service Station comes with a couple of caveats worth noting. I haven’t spent a lot of time with this feature yet, but I’m experimenting with using it to surface functionality that I currently access as Finder Quick Actions. The other advantage of Service Station is that you can consolidate AppleScript and shell scripts and Automator workflows alongside the apps you typically use. Now when I right-click on an image, those three apps are displayed near the top of the contextual menu where they are easy to choose, eliminating the need to use the Open With menu and pick from a long list of apps. The reality is that there are only a few image editors I routinely use, so I modified Service Station’s built-in sample rule to display options for Pixelmator Pro, Lightroom, and Preview. For example, if I right-click on a PNG in the Finder and select Open With, I’m confronted with two dozen apps I could use. What I like most about Service Station is how it surfaces and consolidates just those items that are important to my work. It’s a good way to familiarize yourself with what is possible. You can edit or remove the default rules if you want, but I suggest clicking the gear icon beneath each one to get a sense of how they are set up before you delete anything. Service Station comes with a handful of built-in rules for folders, text files, movies, and images. Service Station packs a lot of options that open up a wide range of potential rules. md file, I’ll see an option to open it in iA Writer. I navigate to iA Writer, click Open, and my rule is ready to go. For example, if I want Markdown files to open in iA Writer, I simply need to click the plus button, name the rule, and define the rule as ‘File extension is md.’ Then in the menu items pane, I click the plus button beneath it, which gives me the option to add an application or script. Each rule defines a series of conditions that must be met for the menu items to appear in the Finder’s contextual menu. The app’s Context Menu view is where you set up rules and menu items. Although the app is a stand-alone utility, the single-window approach is reminiscent of a System Preferences pane like the one Hazel installs. Service Station’s UI is comprised of a single window with a couple of different views that can be toggled between using the segmented control at the top of the window. These are all tasks that macOS already supports in one way or another, but Service Station surfaces them as top-level contextual menu options and can be customized to suit your individual needs, which makes this a very handy tool. The app can also be used to kick off AppleScript and shell scripts and Automator workflows. Service Station is a new Mac utility that takes advantage of Finder extensions by letting users create rules to control when and which apps are displayed in the right-click contextual menu. Service Station adds apps and scripts to the top level of your Mac’s contextual menu based on rules you define. 2/18/2024 0 Comments Red steam trainIts continued popularity, he suggests, was due to a widespread ambivalence on the part of the Japanese populace towards the steam era, on the one hand it providing better transportation, and on the other it destroying or (with the construction of the railway lines) physically reshaping the natural environment and homogenizing society and erasing local differences. Īccording to Michael Dylan Foster, a professor of Japanese at University of California at Davis, there are many allegorical interpretations of the tale, from industry versus the environment to the foreign versus the native. The tale would conclude with a humorous observation such as that "of course the tanuki really enjoy imitating things". The essence of the folk tale is that steam train drivers would hear the noise of a steam train coming towards them along the track, and they would initially stop to avoid a collision but they would eventually carry on, when no train arrived, later to find a dead tanuki lying across the tracks. Īccording to Sasaki, the tales of ghost steam trains are rather humorous, unlike the Japanese folk tales of ghost ships which are more mystical in character. The earliest instance of the tale that he had been able to trace was from some time between 18, but it had spread as the railways, first arriving in Japan only a few years earlier, had themselves spread across the country. Such tales were widespread by 1910, and folklorist Kizen Sasaki commented in 1926 that "probably everybody has heard this story somewhere at least once". In Japan, the nisekisha ( 偽汽車) or yūrei-kikansha ( 幽霊機関車) is a folk tale of a phantom/counterfeit/ghost steam train involving the tanuki. Accounts of ghost trains have been reported in Canada, Japan, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and in many states of the United States. Ghost trains are reported in many different parts of the world where trains have at some point been prevalent forms of transportation. The ghost train differs from other traditional forms of haunting in that rather than being a static location where ghosts are claimed to be present, "the apparition is the entire train". In ghostlore, a ghost train is a phantom vehicle in the form of a locomotive or train. For other uses, see Ghost train (disambiguation). 2/18/2024 0 Comments Convert string to int python error

Correspondence concerning this article should be addressed to Andrew Brake, Social Work Program, Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago, IL 40425. Brake’s future research aims to understand the lead roles social workers play in enhancing school-wide school mental health and school climate initiatives in urban public high schools. Brake was Co-Principal Investigator for the School Mental Health Professional Learning Community Project, a two-year qualitative examination of a professional learning community designed specifically for school mental health practitioners in metropolitan Chicago. His research examines how trust and collaboration shape teaching and social work practice and the lead roles of social workers in improving policies, practices, and partnerships in urban public high schools. Implications for further research on PLCs and advancing the professional development of SSW are discussed.Īndrew Brake is an assistant professor of social work at Northeastern Illinois University. By the end of the first year, participants overwhelmingly cited their PLC experiences as beneficial to reducing SMHP professional isolation, creating a supportive, resource-rich group of SMHP colleagues, and rejuvenating their commitment to the profession and their ability to lead their schools in advancing SEMH services and supports. Through the professional camaraderie they quickly found among their PLC colleagues, participants engaged collaboratively to develop an array of interventions for their schools, strengthened their professional capacities, and enhanced their sense of professional self-efficacy. Drawing on qualitative data gathered from three rounds of in-depth interviews with participants during the first year of the PLC, we find that the PLC drew participants who sought specific opportunities through the PLC to improve their knowledge and skills to lead their schools in advancing social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) services and supports in their schools. This article examines the first-year experiences of school mental health professionals (SMHP) in a two-year PLC made up largely of SSW from an array of schools and districts throughout metropolitan Chicago. However, rigorous research on the key components, mechanisms, and impact of PLCs has been limited overall, with virtually no research conducted on PLCs with school social workers (SSW). Professional learning communities (PLCs) have become commonplace in K-12 schools for helping teachers collaborate to build their professional capacities and address school-based problems. Even better, the Quicksilver Cash Rewards has a $0 annual fee. This card doesn’t offer a rewards program, meaning you don’t earn any points, miles, or cash back on your purchases.īut if you were able to upgrade your Capital One Platinum to a Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card, you could earn 1.5% cash back on every purchase, every day and 5% cash back on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel (terms apply). Your existing credit card might not earn any rewards at all, so an upgrade could help you earn more value from everyday purchases.įor example, take the Capital One Platinum Credit Card. Pros of upgrading Increase your earning potentialĬredit cards with annual fees often provide better rewards rates than no-annual-fee cards. Pros and cons of upgrading a Capital One credit card Pros of upgrading This is because the Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure (CARD) Act generally limits any interest rate or fee increases for the first year. In the case of the Capital One Venture X, there’s no upgrade path because there’s no higher card tier.Īlso note that you typically can’t complete an upgrade within a year of opening a credit card, so you’d have to wait one year after opening the Venture to upgrade to the Venture X.Ĭredit card issuers are often restricted from upgrading you to a credit card with a higher annual fee within your first year as a cardholder. This doesn’t always mean you can upgrade to a card with a higher annual fee than your existing card, but it’s a good rule of thumb. The Venture X has a $395 annual fee, while the Venture Rewards has a $95 annual fee. You can tell the difference between card tiers by looking at their annual fees. That’s because the Venture X is a higher-tier card than the Venture Rewards. For example, you might be able to upgrade to the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card if you already have the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card. You also must consider whether there’s an upgrade path available for your specific credit card. You might be able to receive a credit limit increase by requesting one and getting approved, or Capital One could proactively offer you an increase. Capital One provides credit line increases to eligible cardholders, which means you receive a higher credit limit. When we mention “credit card upgrades,” we aren’t referring to credit line or credit limit increases. 2/18/2024 0 Comments Longest yes typoYou seem to be stoked and motivated to improve your riding and so was my bud from the very early on. I have Mercury 2020 157 ~86 kg, 9,5 US), my bud owns Typo 2018 155 (he’s 70 kg, 9 US) so I can give you the insight into these, I haven’t been on the Mountain Twin. Would like to seek for advice on the feasibility and/or practicality on the above mentioned three boards, with the following questions:ġ) Is the YES Typo more forgiving board among the three with the 2mm raise nose and tail rocker? As the Flex people reviewed actually feels like 4-5/10 instead of YES Rated at 6.10.Ģ) Are there a lot of overlap between these three boards?ģ) Should I then purchase the YES Typo for better progression on board before moving to either the Mercury or Mountain Twin?Ĥa) If I should purchase the YES Typo, what size would be best? the 155 or 158?Ĥb) If I should NOT purchase the YES Typo, is it because of the overlap? And which board would be more forgiving to learn on and which to sell (Mercury or MT)? Boarded at Mount Hotham in icy Australia and did okay okay on Blue/Red equivalent-Intermediate runs except for flat cat tracks where i kept catching an edge.īoard used: Bought a second hand YES Basic (2011-2013 model) for a dirt cheap price instead of using rentals.ĭays Planned to ride yearly: On average 7-14 days / year My turns are skidded "S" shape turns with little to no carve lines mostly skidded and I can mostly able to control my speed if I feel it’s uncomfortable. Have attempted Blacks, but mostly 'C' turns on them. I know I might have jumped the gun and got too excited and hooked onto snowboarding that I bought boards that may be too advanced for me, please don't bash me for it as I know I might have screwed up thus seeking for advice here so as to not waste any money furtherĮxperience Level: Approximately 10 days of riding under belt - I can now link turns in both directions on green (beginner) and intermediate (blue/red) slopes. Would a softer cheaper binding like the Burton Freestyle make the 149cm work better for him? (I know it's a little Burton-centric, but he's ridden like 3 sizes of Burton Choppers and Burton kid/youth bindings, and 5 sizes of Burton kid boots, so we've started Burton-y.) In a pinch I could eat money, get the Instigator, and know I have to hand it down/sell it next year and then get the Typo when it fits him better. I have read a ton of reviews on both boards. Problem is the Typo only comes in a 149cm, so I'm concerned it might be too much of a next step if that extra length makes it too hard for him to turn at slow/medium speeds as he works on going a little quicker. It looks like the Yes Typo might be a nice board for progressing on without really outgrowing for what he likes, groomers, and maybe going through a few of the easy tree sections with tight slow turns, and small natural jumps (very small), and baby park stuff/tiny jumps Not crazy about the channel system since I was going with non-EST Medium Mission bindings. I was looking at the Burton Instigator in a 145cm, but I'm worried that the boot size could make this a "one and done" board. Has ridden different sizes of Burton Choppers all along, with from boots. Working on going faster, to at least keep up with intermediate ski family and friends. Has done lessons to start off the season each year. Slidey turns on the steeper PA blacks, fine on the rest. Can do the blues at Okemo and the easiest "blacks" in PA.
